STONEFIRE DRAGONS BOOK 1

In exchange for a vial of dragon’s blood to save her brother’s life, Melanie Hall offers herself up as a sacrifice to one of the British dragon-shifter clans. Being a sacrifice means signing a contract to live with the dragon-shifters for six months to try to conceive a child. Her assigned dragonman, however, is anything but easy. He’s tall, broody, and alpha to the core. There’s only one problem—he hates humans.

Due to human dragon hunters killing his mother, Tristan MacLeod despises humans. Unfortunately, his clan is in desperate need of offspring to repopulate their numbers and it’s his turn to service a human female. Despite his plans to have sex with her and walk away, his inner dragon has other ideas. The curvy human female tempts his inner beast like no other.

Note: If you don't like spice (or steam), dirty talk, a curvy heroine who stands up for herself, or a grumpy dragonman who is determined to embrace his hate and fight his fated mate, then don't read this book. It was a well paced romantic story w/ equally stubborn & loyal main characters. I wish it were a little longer and would have had a little more detail to flush out the plot line, but I guess this way allows more books in the series to be created. It was a quick read, but I'd consider getting the next one when it goes on sale :D

I enjoyed the characters and their relationship yet it lacked more information. In saying this, the quick outline and fast pace nature of a short story isn’t my usual preference. I wanted to try one and see how it went. Honestly, I loved parts of it, others I did not. such as; the eyes slitting made me cringe along with a few other things, the lack of detail, structure, history, world building and certain lines. Dialog was good, characters good, loved their chemistry, VERY predictable though. I hated hearing their last names all the time as well🤣 that might be just me. I could not get into the scenes all that well and most of the time the characters were faceless dancing around in my head having sex. Too much use of curse words takes away from the effectiveness of them. I am a novelist myself and I’m very big on certain details of a book, this is my personal opinion. I’m also big on heart and this novelette has plenty of that. Btw, I pick things to peace’s 😅 I have tried not to do that with this review, though I’m nothing if not honest.

I enjoyed the story, but some of the sex scenes could have been eliminated and more storyline added. It's already a given that once they have sex, they are going to do it again, so we don't need a play by play of each sexual act. It's gets old real fast.
